A Nod(To)Design Jewelry
If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you probably already know that jewelry is MY THING. When it comes to jewelry, my motto is the more the merrier! A big fan of jewelry in general, I love the way it transforms the most casual outfits into polished and sophisticated ensembles and adds that perfect finishing touch to any night-time look!
The designer for all the jewelry I am featuring today is Wenjing Yang, a Portland-based designer. Wenjing was in apparel design industry for about a decade before she started designing jewelry. Making jewelry is what she loves to do now and it also offers her the freedom and balance she needs between working and taking care of her family. Every year A NOD (TO) DESIGN partners with a non-profit organization, donating 5% of every sale. This year it is teaming up with The Oregon Food Bank to make sure no one suffers from hunger.
I featured her jewelry in the “Wednesday Blue” post back in 2017. Since then, she has launched her brand and website – ANOD(TO)DESIGN. Her jewelry is being sold in multiple local boutique stores in Portland. She now has multiple collections for sale on her own website as well and more new designs coming to life every day.
The earrings you see in the above picture are called “Rule Breakers,” priced at $98. I like the fact that each earring of the pair is different, which makes it really unique and fun. The shape of this pair elongates your face if you have more of a rounded face shape.
The earrings featured in the above photos are called “Courages“, priced at $150. The name is very fitting since the first thing I thought about when I saw them was warriors. What I love about this set is the play between hard and soft. The metal is sharp and rigid while the pearl is soft and beautiful. Together they create a truly unique piece that adds character to any individual.
The three-set of earrings above are called “Witty“, priced at priced at $130. What I love about this set is that they are inspired by the shape of safety pins, which are in trend these days, but with a minimal twist. I like how each earring is different and how the designer has interchanged the color and materials to create three unique pieces for you to mix and match.
The above earrings are called “Icon“, priced at $110. When I first saw this set I was not a big fan of it. However it has now turned into my favorite piece from the whole collection because of how versatile it is. I have worn it with my Louis Vuitton dress and many other casual outfits and it has added statement and beauty to each of them. I highly recommend this set.
The above three-piece earrings are called “Playful“, priced at $130. The earrings sit perfectly. It is the perfect medium where it is long and makes a statement but isn’t so long that it is not practical. The pearl accent of one of the pieces gives it elegance while the rounded shape and vertical lines create an intricate geometry. This set will complement any face.
Last but certainly not least is the above necklace and rings. I love the dynamic design of the necklace as the pearl is not stationary and it moves around throughout the day as I move, which really catches people’s eyes. What I love about the rings is their mixed textures and materials. You can either wear them individually but they also look great stacked together.
Simple, mature, bold, versatile, and comfortable – these are all the words that come to my mind when I think of Yang’s designs. I have been wearing her jewelry for a couple years now and can recommend her jewelry with 100% confidence. This is the second time we have collaborated. It makes me happy to do so as I have been wanting to further showcase her work. I want everyone to feel as beautiful, playful, and elegant as I do when I wear her affordable jewelry.
