Metallic All The Way
As much as I try to avoid being trendy (I know, it sounds really weird right?! I am a fashion blogger but I am trying not to be trendy……), I still undoubtedly end up wearing pieces that are in trend. Why? Because a trend you see currently is defined by collective efforts between fashion designers, color and textile experts & manufactures through the form of seasonal collections a couple of seasons ahead. As long as you buy currently, you end up following a trend that was defined before.
Regardless of if I am wearing a trendy piece or not, the key for me is to wear something that makes me look more beautiful and/or adds emotional empowerment (such as making me happy or increasing my confidence).
I accidentally came across this VINCE Metallic Embroidery Skirt when I was surfing the internet looking for a metallic skirt. I loved the silk material and the embroidery details; what I wasn’t sure of was the fit. After I received it, I loved it immediately upon trying on. It flows beautifully and the slit on the side makes it sexier and interesting. The best part, this skirt has on-seam pockets, which I am crazy about.
As i stood in front of my closet trying to pick up a top to go with this skirt, this CYNTHIA STEFFE gold sequin I had from a while ago stood out as a good option. I tried it on and that was my outfit for the day! Don’t you guys love when you can put together an outfit on just the first try?!
Those of you who follow me on Instagram, by now you are probably aware that my ALL-TIME-FAVORITE shoes these days is this FENDI Zucca sports band slingback pumps, the winner in my recent designer shoe and bag review VLOG. For bag, once again the Chanel Le Boy bag made a perfect match. I went on my day feeling like a gold goddess!
A reflection from today’s experience of putting together this outfit: do not easily throw away clothes that have been sitting in your closet. Sometimes those old pieces could be the one thing you need to create a perfect outfit with new pieces you just got.
