Like everything else in the world, Style has its own rules. To dress stylishly, you need to understand these rules, practice them, excel and then perhaps break them. From now on, I will start to share some of rules I learned over the years on my blog. Hopefully it could benefit you one way or another. Before I start, I have to emphasize there is always exceptions to rules. If a rule applies to 80% of occasions then we can call it a rule. (The 80/20 rule).

  • Rule No.1: Loose tunic/top usually goes better with something close ended such as pencil skirt or skinny jean. The key is the end of the bottom piece needs to be tight fit. What I wear in today's look follows this rule: silk loose swing tunic with pencil skirt like skirt.

I picked this white pencil skirt to go with the silk tunic for two reasons:

  1. is to follow the rule No.1 I shared above;

  2. is because the tunic has white embroidery on it so white skirt is like color extension from the top.

Same reason I picked white shell silver earring and white pearl necklace to keep the navy and white color theme. Guest appearance Bei Li, my dear friend from San Fransisco.
