Reading has absolutely became a luxury for me ever since I had children. If I remember correctly, I only finished reading one book "Snow Flower and Secret Fan" by Lisa Lee in the last 4 years. Then I stayed in a relaxing Thai beach villa which belongs to YourKohSamuiVillas. : )It was a good day to visit Powell's book store, little bit of drizzling rain off and on. It was a chilly day so I wore a long sleeve top. I paired it with pleated skirt I got when I was in Rome last year. The black top has a cut open on the back. It really helps showing off the skirt! So why did I choose a black top vs anything else? Here comes the second dressing tips/rules I like to share today (in last post - When Navy meets White, I started sharing some dressing tips/rules):
- Rule No.2 : Generally speaking, when we wear a piece of clothing that is colorful or prints, it is better to choose a solid color piece to pair. You can pick one color out of the colorful piece and make that the solid color top or bottom. - For example, in my today's look, my pleated skit has beige and black color on it plus some random prints in those folds. I picked black solid top because black obviously is one of the color of the skirt. Some people might choose a complete new color for matching this skirt. That is another possibility and I will talk about rules around that in my future blogs.

I accessorized the whole outfit with gold & pearl themed jewelries. Pearl generally makes you look more calm and elegant. It is Perfect for going to library this kind of occasion.
