Polka Dots & Ivy Park Sequins
First, I’d like to share the wonderful news that my sister just got married last Sunday!!! It has been a long journey for her to finally find happiness again. I am beyond happy for her and my niece Chloe. I will certainly share some of the photos from the wedding later after I receive them from our wedding photographer. As you could image, I had a big role in the wedding. I was the emcee and one of the bridesmaids. In short, my sister looked gorgeous with the wedding dress I got her and the wedding was beyond beautiful, situated at a stunning family owned winery called Beacon Hill Winery.
I wish I could have worn this outfit to the wedding. Yes, that is how much I love it. But obviously it would have been inappropriate for the occation, especially because I was a bridesmaid. : ) This Ivy Park sequin bra and skirt were purchased completely separately at different times with the ERDEM Nayla Swiss-dot tulle blouse. The blouse comes with a black camisole. However, as I was styling this blouse, my team and I got an idea: layering this blouse over this sequin bra instead of wearing it with the black camisole that came with seemed intriguing. I was immediately sold after I put it on!
The polka dot print and the bow ties on the end of the sleeves softened the sporty look and the sequin set gave it an edge. I also love the way the sequins of the bra shine through the blouse, which add an extra layer of texture and fun for the outfit. For the shoe choice, I went with the same color theme – my silver lace-up sandal from Stella MaCartney.
When I was thinking of what bag to pair, this old 3.1 Philip Lim bag undoubtedly became the best option for this outfit because of the sleek modern design as well as the color. I felt glamorous, sexy & confident the whole day as I was out and about. And, yes I received countless compliments and head-turns. It is always nice to get that, which really helps brighten my day especially on a day when I don’t feel so great. Remember what I always say over and over again – what you wear always matters. This is a great example why. : )
