A Better You For 2019

Many people say as their new years resolution, “New Year, New Me!” But what I have found out over the years is this statement needs an update. Why would you ever want to start over again and be “new”, when you have such a rich, lived, and experienced “old” you to count on to become a better version of yourself each and every day. We become smarter and “better” human beings by learning from our experiences – good or bad.

So this year, my new year’s resolution is to embrace and love the “old me,” while becoming a a bit more considerate, more organized, more thoughtful, more hard working, more adventurous, more fashionable, one step at a time, day by day. I decided to be a bit more daring in my outfit choice for New Years Eve of 2019. I wanted the glittery feel of the new years with a timeless twist. For this, I had the perfect Parisian dress by ba&sh Paris but wasn’t sure of how much skin it showed. I didn’t know what to wear under it to keep the sexiness of the dress but ease my worry of the possibility of flashing someone.

And then it hit me! My black and white striped Dior underwear and my black and white striped 3.1 Philip Lim purse would make the perfect complement for the dress!  As soon as I put them on with my dress, I knew it was going to be my outfit for new year’s. To complete the look, I made a trip to my local vintage jewelry store and bought all of their vintage gypsy style necklaces and layered them on top of each other. I couldn’t be happier with the result.

This year, I wanted to walk into the new year feeling timeless, feeling bold, feeling like I have all of the past to help guide my future. Some sparkling vintage necklaces represent a sparkling new year to live, bold underwear represent some bold decisions to come, and a daring dress represents a more daring me.

As the “new us” start to roll into the new year I want you to know that what we wear truly represent the person we are and will become. So for the next year, I challenge you to think more deeply of your wardrobe and what you put on on a day to day basis. I challenge you to wear more clothes that represent a better you, a “you” that is fearless, a “you” that will rock your world.

As the new year came to an end, all I could think about was how lucky I am to have spent the last year doing what I love as I traveled the world to fashion shows and got to showcase it all to you. I am getting closer and closer to my dreams and all I have to thank is you. Without you believing in me every step of the way, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Blogging can be a very challenging business, but your enthusiasm is what keeps my momentum going. I am so lucky to have the best followers and want you to know that I have worked very hard to make this next year truly amazing. Wishing you a Happy and more fashionable New Year ;).
