My Sister Got Married!

I don’t often share a lot about my personal life, but I had to tell you guys about one of the happiest days of our family’s lives - my sister got married this past summer! As a bridesmaid and emcee, I had a lot of responsibilities to ensure the wedding was a success. However, before we go into that, nothing came close to the stress of the first task I had to take care of - finding my perfect bridesmaid dress. I browsed more than 30 websites and after a roller coaster of waiting for shipments, fittings, uncertainty, and one month left until the wedding, I was starting to lose hope.

I reached out to social media as a desperate attempt to find more resources and I found the most incredible website called Search By Colors. Search By Colors is a site that displays all bridesmaid dresses by precise color, which is specified by the user. This service pulls all dresses it finds online that match the user’s needs.

I had such a hard time finding dresses within the exact color theme of my sister’s wedding and Search By Colors instantly found hundreds of dresses I would not have been able to find otherwise, and just like that I found the perfect dress and was finally ready to help make my sister’s special day the best day ever! Though the whole day was a very special experience, I am going to go through my highlights of the day.

First and foremost, my sister and her husband, Ethan, did a beautiful job with choosing a venue - Beacon hill winery. It was so elegant and the decorations my sister planned pulled it all together and created a very mature and special atmosphere for the guests.

The ceremony was truly beautiful. The moment my sister walked down the aisle with the sun shining on her and her veil flowing in the gentle breeze, I was brought to tears. I had never seen my sister so radiant and happy. I could not be happier for her.

My sister has a daughter from her previous marriage - my niece Chloe. Chloe is a truly special and talented girl. Among all of her abilities, she plays the violin and serenaded us with a beautiful melody during the ceremony. The ceremony ended with a truly unforgettable passionate kiss between my sister and her husband. It was clear that they are meant for each other.

The reception was a spectacular event filled with talent and entertainment. My son played the piano, my brother’s daughter, Layla, danced a Hip Hop number, Chloe sang a personally written tribute song to her mom which didn’t leave a dry eye in the audience, and many fun and emotional speeches were presented.

My brother’s speech was very romantic and thought-provoking. My speech was very emotional and long per usual…lol!. I just was very touched and happy that my sister finally got married after so long. For those who don’t know, before my father passed away, I promised him that I would take care of my sister and help find her someone to spend the rest of her life with. To have that promise fulfilled lifted such a huge burden from my heart. It was the moment I felt set free and could finally breath.

My favorite part of the day happened at the end, after the cake-cutting, games, dancing, and exit. Driving back from the wedding and reflecting on everything that had happened during the day in peace, was a profound moment. I replayed all the beautiful moments, the joy, the tears, and most importantly realized that I had fulfilled my dad’s final wish. I was so happy and relieved.
