Gucci Skirt & Balenciaga Shirt

What you’ll see in today’s post is what I wore to the recent New York Angelman Syndrome Collections Show that I was invited to. The experience of attending FashioNXT, London Fashion Week certainly trained me well. It didn’t take me long to decide on what to wear this time around.

I couldn’t take my eye off this GUCCI floral-jacquard midi skirt when I spot it at Nordstrom. Even though it was very pricey, I still couldn’t resist myself from getting it. Women and their impulsive purchasing decisions… I know…

This skirt comes with a matching jacket-like top, which I didn’t like. It makes the whole outfit looks rigid and oldish looking. Instead, I paired the skirt with this Balenciaga oversized striped cotton-jacquard shirt. I immediately loved how the top transformed the look by bringing sexiness, fun & young-looking into the look.  Also this top can also been worn many different ways such as completely tucked in front and back, one side of the front tucked in with the other side hanging down, etc. In the end, for this look I chose to do a big tie in the front with back completely tucked into the skirt. You know how important it is for me to have clothing pieces that are versatile and this shirt certainly meets the criteria!

I didn’t want my shoes to take away the focus of this Gucci skirt so I chose my beige Chanel singback pump. For bag, I chose my brand new Fendi Ken I Scalloped bag. I just loved how the stitched-loop edging complimented the floral pattern and the bag also added more freshness and fun into the look.

If you were to score me from a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best), how will you score this look as a look for attending a fashion show? I am curious of your scoring. : )
