Plunging In Positano
Going to the beach is one of the few things I am willing to wake up early for. In the morning, not only are there fewer people, but, contrary to popular belief, the water is actually much warmer. It is just so nice and beautiful being in the sea early, surrounded by nothing but the peaceful beautiful waters of Positano.
I used to be afraid of swimming in the sea. When I was younger, I was swimming with my family when all of a sudden I found myself being swept away from them and into the open water as a current got hold of me. It was one of the scariest things I had ever experienced. This really traumatized me and ever since I have had a fear of swimming in the ocean.
Luckily, I overcame my fear of the ocean many years later with the help of my beloved husband. I still panic from time to time when I get into the deeper parts of the ocean, however I now know that panicking never helps and I need remember to breathe, keep calm, and, most importantly, keep swimming, LOL. One thing that also helps me get my mind off my fear is going to the beach in style. Not only does that boost my confidence, but it gives me something else to think about.
The swimsuit I am wearing in this post is the BECCA by Rebecca Virtue Color Play Plunge One Piece Swimsuit. I love this suit for multiple reasons. The plunging neckline and see-through design make it very sexy, and the symmetrical diagonal cuts present the body in a very flattering way. You cannot go wrong with this swimsuit! For when I am out of the water, I wore this crochet white cover up by Femme Luxe to add some more texture to my look and a complimentary sunhat and see-through Michael Kors tote bag. Lastly, to tie the whole look together, I couldn’t leave my hotel room without my newly acquired statement Chanel earrings. Feeling and looking great gave me the positive attitude I needed to go into the sea for a swim.
The beach has taught me a lot about what it is to be a strong human being. Whether it is to stay calm in scary situations, pushing through my fears, letting go of the past, or to simply use my love for fashion in order to get through tough times, I have finally come to realize how beautiful it is to let the ocean embrace me - in style, of course. Leaving Positano was a sad moment for me. However, I left feeling so proud of myself and wanting more!
