Goddess ASOS Maxi Dress Under $50
Over time, I have been getting comments from friends such as: “Remanda, we really love the look and the style you shared on your post, but they’re expensive! Can you share with us outfits that are more affordable?” Ahh, it’s true some of the outfits I posted come with a high price tag. However, I always value quality over quantity. If you invest in a classical piece, for example, a Burberry trench coat for $900 and wear it for ten years. Do the maths! You will find out you’re spending much less than buying something disposable every few years. Plus, in case you do get tired of the piece after a while, you can still get a relatively good resale value out of it.
Meanwhile, being a savvy shopper, I do shop from high-street fashion brands occasionally. The key is to stick to my philosophy of quality first. If the trendy design comes with bad quality, return it before you regret it.
In today’s post, I am sporting my new bargain find - a goddess looking lavender satin maxi dress. It is one-shoulder with an asymmetric hem, trendy but still timeless, flowy and sexy. It has all the characteristics I would look for in an evening dress. Now, are you ready for the price? Surprise! It’s less than $50 (discounted from $135). One of my tips for ending up with clothes looks much more than the original price is looking into the fabrics, to see if they’re good quality and well made.
Just wearing it alone as an evening dress is perfect. To make it extra special, I would match the dress with some fine jewelry and a pair of high heeled sandals for a romantic night. Or, you could also add a belt for a completely look and feel. We probably don’t have concerts or exhibition openings to attend this summer, but we can still indulge ourselves in some nice wine, glamorous clothes, with our loved ones at home.
Here are all the satin maxi dress I like at the moment:
Here are some clear bags options that I also like. Mine is by Zara from last season so it is sold out unfortunately.
So even if you have to shop on a budget, there are still ways to enjoy quality clothes and the fun of dressing up. Are you a “cost per wear” person or are you a savvy shopper who can always find great deals? Either way, we would like to hear from you!
