A Statement Sweater That You All Need

As we all thought spring is finally here, Portland just had our very first snow of the season in mid-March. Luckily, I hadn’t packed away all of my winter sweaters.

Instead of jumping right into my outfit of the day, I would like to talk a little bit about the brand of my sweater - Loewe. Loewe was founded in 1846 in Madrid by a group of Spanish leather craftsmen. It is perceived as the oldest and one of the world’s major luxury houses. After Jonathan Anderson became the creative director of Loewe, this old classy house has transformed to be more fun, youthful and romantic. And ever since then, I have been a big fan of Loewe.

It is probably not hard to figure out why I call this sweater a statement piece. Those faux-pearl embellishments running around the top of its standing collar is just so eye-catching, bold and unique!!

Typically, people like to pair a sweater with a jean, which is a look if you have a statement sweater like this one. However, over the year I have realized having layers in a sweater-look always elevates the look and makes it way more interesting.

I wore a white shirt underneath to add a layer by rolling the sleeves up for it to show. I also added my crystal studs to my sleeve as buttons to add a bit more detail to the outfit. I also did something unconventional by adding a brooch around the waistline to reduce the chunkiness of the sweater and also create shape.

I picked a pair of monotoned beach-themed print pants by Acne Studios, which makes the look even more bold and effortlessly chic. Some of my friends have complained to me it could be difficult to pull off print pants. Here’s my advice: invest in something versatile. With natural tone-based color palette and season-less materials like silk, print pants can be a staple piece worn with sweaters, shirts or blouses all year round.

To complete the look, I’m wearing my favorite Fendi Zucca Slingback Pump. Don’t get scared of the heel height. It is by far the most comfortable pump I’ve ever had and one of the best selling Fendi shoes. It’s unique geometric design has earned me loads of compliments!
