A Cult Gaia Set To Die For
As summer finally arrived and the stay-at-home orders started to lift, I became overjoyed with the changes occurring both in nature and my mind. The weather is starting to get warmer, and since the sun has been shining, I can’t help but be in a more positive mood! I started taking more walks in the near by woods recently and everyday I am captivated by the beautiful shapes of trees and the shades of the unknown flowers. I felt like the outside environment was started to move inside me and influence what I wear. This is why I was inspired to create this look - a set outfit by Cult Gaia.
Cult Gaia is a brand founded by the emerging LA designer Jasmin Larian. Even if the brand name sounds unfamiliar, you probably have seen her signature crescent shaped bamboo basket Ark bag quite often either on social media and in real life. One thing I like about Larian’s designs is her way of incorporating organic natural shapes like waves, pebbles, the sun and the moon in the form of her designs.
For example, when looking at this pleated Mala top, you can see how she is playing with volume and structure to create a very elegant shell shaped silhouette. And of course I couldn’t get the top alone! I needed the one-of-a-kind matching Keira Pants to complete this stunning look, which are inspired by the rolling hills of Tuscany. Small pleats and pointed hems play with texture and expectations. I like the feeling of wearing this set. The silky fabric seems to take a life of its own and moves like the ocean waves.
The pearl shaped bag is also from Cult Gaia. It’s an eye catching piece of art and it had to become part of my collection. The design of the gold oblong handle makes it wearable like a bracelet on the arm - a perfect complement to an already breath taking outfit.
When I first saw this outfit, I imagined myself wearing it in the rainforest. Thinking of the rain and the wilderness, I knew that a wet-hair look and makeup was the best fit to bring this fantasy to life. Since this outfit was inspired by nature, I knew that no matter where I photograph it, its organic silhouette and earthy tones would blend into any environment seamlessly.
Here are all the other color options for this set. Even though the brown color is sold out, I also really love the green and white ones. The white one even offers a skirt option for bottom!
Here are all the bags I love from Cult Gaia at the moment:
How much more inspiring can a designer and brand be? Taking elements from the beauty that we take for granted everyday, our beautiful earth, and representing it in the clothing we wear each and everyday. It seems like the perfect way to celebrate and thank nature for letting us live such a beautiful and abundant life.
